The story of a Butterknife!!
It all began at P P Savani University, Surat, within the familiar walls of our School of Architecture. Back then, Ritesh was an architecture student - curious, observant, always searching for stories in spaces. The passion for documenting and capturing buildings took root early, while studying architecture, long before Butterknife had a name. Somewhere in those corridors, he met Kush, a designer with a strong technical hand and a camera always within reach.
Their first collaboration was a campus shoot competition - nothing fancy, just two creatives exploring what they loved. Winning top honors was a bonus. What mattered more was the realization that architecture wasn’t only about drawings and buildings - it could be experienced, felt, and narrated visually.
They started filming short stories for their university - chasing the way light falls, how materials age, how silence defines a space. Ritesh directed with an architect’s sensibility and storyteller’s instinct; Kush shaped every frame with technical precision. Together, they formed Butterknife - a shared dream turned studio.
Today, Butterknife is where architecture and emotion meet. We create architectural photography, cinematic films, and visual narratives that move beyond documentation. From spaces to furniture, every story we tell celebrates the unseen - the mood, the rhythm, the poetry that gives architecture its soul.
